As the planes land and New Elmendorf, formerly known as Elmendorf US Airforce base they are greeted by the sight of a fully functioning city. While the buildings are not as large or expansive as their pre knox event counterparts they are serviceable and built well. New Elmendorf is totally secure and insulated from the outside world with guards patrolling the perimiter. Those that were claimed by the knox event originally are unheard of and nowhere to be found in the surrounding area. Survivors are screened by Elmendorf security as they get off the plane and then are given living quarters and jobs according to their declared skill sets. New Elmnedorf truly is a functioning city and society with libraries, schools, hospitals, and electricity / plumbing. This is as close to most people will ever get to life before the Knox Event....
